dc.description.abstract | The world needs to be saved. It is standing at the brink of environmentally catastrophic destruction, while also struggling with various social injustices and inequalities, as war and hatred divide us continually at every scale. The aim, not just as an architect, but as a young citizen of this world, is to make a change. Education is, indisputably, the only means to initiate and sustain any long-term, widespread, positive change in the world. Members of the society are exposed to schools at the most crucial stage of development. Therefore, what the school imparts to its students goes on to become the set of values that form a society. Young children are very observant and absorb a lot from their immediate surroundings. Hence, it becomes imperative to design our schools with great responsibility. It is possible to make them sensitive towards the impact of human choices on the environment, through some aspects of the design. And integrating learning with everyday experiences can help bring about a holistic change in the approach of education. | en_US |
