Abstract: To invigorate scientific temperament amongst the people of Visakhapatnam region covering Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East Godavari and also neighbouring states of Andhra Pradesh due to its proximity and connectivity, Regional Science Centre is proposed in the City of Destiny – Visakhapatnam. The National Council of Science Museums under the aegis of Ministry of Culture encourages establishing Science Centres The research work dealt with the different display systems and crowd management in spaces specified to museums. Crowd management in a design perspective is observed and types and psychology of the crowd movement was studied during the research. MUSEUMS help in communicating. They form a connection between the past and the present. This research work helped in designing a sustainable science city focusing on science museum. Functionality and circulation were of utmost importance to the project. Throughout the design process, these were the guiding factors. In addition to these considerations, spaces have also been designed to provide a variety of open, semi-open and closed spaces to facilitate opportunities for interaction and to provide breathing spaces. A study was also conducted to understand how daylighting techniques are essential in museums.
