dc.description.abstract | Ina 73 acre site peppered with atrocities of climate extremities, i.e; high speed sand laden winds, temperatures soaring up to 45 degrees Celsius, marshy site edges, saline soil. A site which resides on the edge of a small little port town called Mandvi in Kutch District of Gujarat. In a site, with saline groundwater upon which the natural vegetation pattern is both a boon and a bane, how would a built form for leisure and relaxation respond to it? How can such a site carve out superior architectural space which would respond to the seismic vibrations of a zone 5 Kutch earthquakes and yet present the user with a higher quality of living? This design project is an attempt to understand the possibilities of responses to such extremities. The report would also touch upon certain philosophies of experience generation which would help reinforce the rationale behind the design outcome. Based on the results of the thesis dissertation report titled “Kutch Responsive Design” a set of design responses or rather guild lines would also be presented which have majorly influences the entire essence of the resort design. | en_US |
